I had the intention to go in Madagasar (AF-057) already a couple of years ago, but the Resort we would go me and my wife was not available for the period requested … So we was forced to move forward this destination, and we want to another far away destination …. see here where …
Anyway, this year we will be definitely in Madagascar !! As usual will be not a real DX PEDITION… I always travel with my beloved wife, so I will not dedicate my whole time to the radio…. anyway will try to have some funny pile up from the fantastic Island !
The request of the Call and the permission to operate from the Country has been at then end quite a smooth process, also if take a lot of time because the amount request was never enough; the Bank is taking quite an high commission, so for 2 times I added money, ans the fund wired enver came as espected !
At the end I received the long awaited callsing; as is possible choose the Callsign, as per my other operation I requested the suffix TD as are the last two call of my Italian callsign…. so I will be 5R8TD !
We will visit 2 Islands, the first will be Nosy Be, very well know from the Amateur Radio Community; the second one will be the fantastic Tsarabanjina Island.. it is quite a new island for the Touristic Industry, but is much less “used” then Nosy Be… the original plan was to stay 2 week here, but also booking in January, we got the possibility to make just one week.
Plus, my friend Claudio IW1QLH will give me the possibility to have the log on line in real time (if the wifi will assist me) …. You will find the operation here….
